Located between the forks of the White River, the county is a mix of prairie and timber, rolling hills, and rich bottomland. The magnificent farmland produces bountiful crops of grain and supports a wide variety of livestock. Daviess County is among the leaders in Indiana farming, ranking fourth in cash receipts from agriculture. A newspaper advertisement in 1817 described Daviess County as "the garden spot of Indiana." It still is. For more information on this exciting Southern Indiana destination, contact: Daviess County Chamber of Commerce & Visitor's Bureau (800) 449-5262 |
